Thanksgiving Week Catch Up....

Thanksgiving celebrations started this week on Wednesday at Jared's Preschool. Each year they make homemade pumpkin pies and invite parents to come taste. They also have a small program of songs the kids have been learning for Thanksgiving. Jared loves popcorn, so he was so happy that was a choice instead of just pumpkin pie...although he did taste it. It was fun to see our once shy boy singing and talking with friends. He is growing up so fast. I can't believe he'll be in Kindergarten next year!
Getting ready to taste the cool whip...Now tasting the pie Jared smashed on his fork...

Singing a few songs...

The Turkey Pokey...put your left wing in...

...Put your left drumstick in...

On Thanksgiving day we went to my mom and dad's house for lunch. I had to work the night before and was due at work that afternoon, so Mom agreed to host a quick lunch for our family. Of course we had to take some family pictures.

Being silly

Dad...carving the turkey

Mom decided to make a chocolate cream pie this year...we had to get proof so she will never try again...let's just say it didn't quite turn out. The boys drank it from their bowls....hence the spoon!

And lastly, Thanksgiving was also Mom's birthday. So we had to have a little celebration. Jared, Aaron and Tyler made cards and we got her a small gift.

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Jared's Preschool Field Trip

Today I went with Jared to the Superstition Farm just south of our house for his Preschool Class Field Trip. It's always fun to go see the cows, feed the goats, pet a chicken and eat ice cream made from the milk from the farm.

Here is the class waiting to go in for the field trip.Jared was so happy to be there....wearing his special field trip t-shirt.
Learning in the "classroom", all about cows, what they eat and how to milk them.

On our hayride around the farm.

It's kind of hard to see, but the black small animal in the middle is a 2 hour old calf.

Getting ready to feed the goats and sheep. Jared did it with my help. He laughed and laughed while the sheep and goats ate the corn out of his hands.

This was the funniest looking chicken walking around.

Petting calves.

Touching the chicken. Jared did not want to hold it.

Petting the bunny.

After the field trip, class photo.

I was very proud that Jared tried to do everything. He fed a donkey a carrot and even went back later to pet the donkey. He is usually so shy and afraid, but not today. He got right in there and did everything. He was even sad when it was time to go home.

Veteran's Day...11-11-11

As a family we attended the Mesa Veteran's Day parade in Downtown Mesa. As always, it was a great parade with all the High School bands representing. There were tons of cub scouts and scout troops, loud motorcycles and army trucks...an all time favorite.
Jared refused to look up at me. He kept telling me he was drinking his juice, no picture.

This was the only way I could get Jared to smile and look in the camera.

Halloween 2011

For Halloween this year we celebrated twice. 1st on Sat. Oct 29th at the Ward Trunk or Treat. Joe was in charge this year and put together a huge party. This picture is from Monday, Oct 31st on our way out to Trick or Treat in the neighborhood. Jacob and Tyler decided not to dress up this year, although they kept saying they were secret agents. Aaron and Jared were great Trick or Treaters. I didn't even have to coach them on how to knock and say "Trick or Treat" and the "thank you's" came easily. It was so cute to hear Jared say, "Happy Halloween" as he walked away. Made for a fun night. Joe took the picture and stayed home to hand out candy. But he was dressed in his Superman costume/t-shirt. Next year we need to talk the older boys into staying home to hand out candy so Joe and I can have a nice walk with the little boys.

Cub Scout Day Camp

Saturday, October 29th Tyler attended his 2nd Cub Scout Day Camp. As you can see in the picture we have a pretty good looking group of Cub Scouts in our Ward. Tyler had a great time, came home dirty and tired. Thank you to our fearless Cub Leaders for spending the morning with our boys.
