Monday, Monday

Good start to the week. Everyone is in school where they belong and I haven't gotten any phone calls to come get anyone. Maybe this cold is really starting to pass. It has totally made the rounds here in the Macdonald home. It started with Jacob and then spread quickly to Tyler. Just as Jacob started to feel better, I started to feel the affects. Tyler seemed to get progressively worse each day, but that seems to be how it always affects Tyler. I got over it rather quickly and was hoping it would stop there, but no. Joe started feeling it Thursday night and by Friday and Saturday he was down. I really hoped Aaron and Jared would skip it all together, but no one is that lucky. The good thing is that Aaron and Jared have a mild cold and are coping nicely with it. It is barely affecting them at all. So we made it through and although we are still sniffling and coughing a bit, it is tolerable. Needless to say we are off to a great September start. Let's hope this isn't just a taste of what the flu season will be like. I am pumping the boys with chewable vitamins every morning and loading up on hand sanitizer just in case!

What a day! And its barely lunch time!!!

I thought today was going to be this totally awesome great day....Jacob and Tyler were feeling a little better. Jacob had decided to go to school. Tyler was going to take another day. Preschool was prepped and ready. All was well. Ha! 2o minutes into preschool, I get the call from the school nurse. Jacob doesn't feel well, is in the nurses office and has a slight fever. Did I say slight? Cause meant slight! She said it 99.9. That is not a fever in my house! So thanks to a few friends/moms in preschool, I ran to the school and picked him up. This threw my whole day off, or at least it feels that way. I now have 4 boys eating lunch and goofing around like they usually do. Jacob has perked up nicely and only fakes a cough whenever I ask how he is feeling. Oh the motherhood days that wear me out! I was hoping for a nap today too. Oh well. There will be other days. Good thing Bunko is tonight and I can go let off a little steam.

Thanks out to Charlotte for a great workout last night and this morning. My arms are killing me! And my hips have not yet recovered from kickboxing. No pain, no gain...right?

Out with the Old...In with the New...

So it was an interesting Sunday night at the Macdonald home. Our kitchen light decided it was on its last leg and kuput...it died. Leaving us in a very dark, yet small kitchen. The solution was to run to Home Depot and get a replacement. Now this is a strange request from my husband and I'll tell you why. Joe does not like electricity! He doesn't mess with it. I usually do that. Well, he said lets get it done. We won't have time this week to do it. So off to HD we went. Found a new light...cut the power to almost everything in the house (trying to find the right switch is a fun game to play on your children...they don't like it when the tv goes out!)...then we started the installation process. Needless to say we have new light! When we finally got the old one down and took it apart, we found it was oooozing some black goo. Maybe that's why it wasn't working. So I'm attaching pictures of the old light, with the goo, and the new light installed on the ceiling. Hooray for us!
On a second note...Jacob caught somthing nasty from school. At least I assume he got it from school because no one was sick here until he went back to school and now he is coughing up a storm. Needless to say, I thought we had contained it just to Jacob. Ha! Oh how I wish that were true! Tyler woke me up at 4:30AM!!! to let me know that Jacob was coughing and he didn't feel good either. I now have 2 coughing boys home from school, doing breathing treatments and downing cough medicine! That means I am stuck in this house with all 4 boys! Let's hope everyone takes a nap today.

Too cute for words

Jared decided to get ready for school this week by putting on Jacob's hat and shoes. He said goodbye and headed out the door. What a big boy we have now!

Calling all bloggers!

I need your help. I've seen so many great blogs out there and want to know the "tricks of the trade". I am asking for any and all suggestions to make my blog cute and easy. Any help would be great. So send me your suggestions and I'll see what I can do.

Biting the Blog Bullet

So I've finally done it...I started a blog. Hopefully this will be something I enjoy and can look back on as a record for my boys. Wish me luck on my new adventure.
