Do you find it strange?

Do you find it strange that when I ask my 2 1/2 year old a "why" question he answers it with "cause"?

This child that can barely communicate in the English language has a grasp of how to correctly use the term because, shortened to cause (sounds like cuz when he says it). I asked Jared this morning if he was ready to get dressed, which he answered with a no like he does most every question. I then asked the little bugger, "Why don't you want to get dressed?". He said, "Cuz". I then said, "You get to go play with Dusty (his cousin) today." He said, "No Dusty". Again I asked why and again he answered with the CUZ!

It's got to be the funniest thing I've heard in the morning. A 2 year old giving me the run around with Cuz as his answer! What is to come next???

Tyler's Baptism

Tyler Joseph Macdonald was baptized on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Boulder Creek Stake Center by his father, Alexander Joseph Macdonald and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by his Grandfather, Stanley Dwayne Hastings. It was a wonderful and hopefully memorable day for Tyler. He had many relatives and friends in attendance. All of my brothers & sisters were there with their families, minus Galen's children. Joe's sister Lynn Hoffmann came from Orem, UT. Aunt Marci Macdonald came with 2 of her children, Madi & Sean, from Thatcher, AZ and Aunt Brenda Macdonald came from north Mesa. My good friends Rhonda Trone and Nancy Gonzales were there to support us also. Plus many good friends from our ward. After the baptism we invited everyone to our home for a lunch. We ate barbecue beef and chicken salad on rolls. Thank you to my family for providing salads & chips. There was tons of food and the weather was a perfect 74 degrees! We ate out in the back yard. The only trouble was Tyler and I were both a bit under the weather, fighting head colds. If not for that, it would have been a perfect day. Thank you to all who came to support Tyler. He was so happy to see so many friends and family. Below are a few picture we took at home before heading down to the church, as well as pictures of Joe & Tyler in their whites. Our newest Bobcat

Last night was our cub scout Pack Blue & Gold Banquet. Tyler earned his Bobcat and was awarded it along with 3 other boys in our Pack. The theme for this year's Blue & Gold was Celebrating 100 years of Scouting and 80 years of Cub Scouting. We had birthday decorations everywhere and ate hot dogs, chips and salads with cupcakes for dessert. I put together a slide show of all the pictures that were taken during the 2009 year. We watched the slide show while everyone ate. It ended up being a fun night. We didn't get to the games we had planned because there were so many awards. So we will save it for another pack meeting.
Here is Tyler and Me after I had stamped Tyler's cheeks with the Cub Scout Paw print. This is our tradition for Bobcats. Tyler looks pretty happy about getting his paw prints.
It's fun having 2 boys in Cubs. We are looking forward to Pinewood Derby this next month. It will be Tyler's 1st and Jacob's last. We will definitely need Grandpa's help building cars this year!

Pictures of Aaron's Finger

Aaron finally let me take pictures of his finger. He said I needed to wait until it was healed. I think in his mind that meant no more bleeding. This cut bled for almost 5 days. We finally put New Skin on it and that seemed to seal the cut enough that it stopped bleeding. It still looks pretty gross, but he doesn't complain about it hurting too much anymore. I thought it was developing infection, but that too seems to be healing. Looks like he will live! Quite the scar though. Hopefully it will fade with time.
