There are many times in our lives that we get to take a moment and be grateful for all our blessings. Last night was one of those times. At about 9:30pm last night, Joe was on his way to my sister's house to get a haircut. At the intersection of Ellsworth and Baseline a car turned in front of him and 2 other cars. Joe's was the only one to hit it. I've included the damage pictures. Such a pretty truck...it's just wrong.
Next wrong thing...the driver that caused the accident left! That's right, a hit and run. Many witnesses stayed and gave the police their information. But unless some miracle occurs it will be all on our insurance.
Yet, still we are grateful.
Grateful Joe was the only one in the car and not the entire family.
Grateful he was wearing a seat belt, which held tight and kept him from having any part of the airbag hit him when it deployed.
Grateful for Good Samaritans that let Joe use their cell phone because Joe had left his at home.
Grateful no one was hurt.
Grateful for honest people who will stay after an accident to give police reports.
Grateful for AAA towing.
Grateful for Mesa Police Department. Good officers that also let Joe use their phones once they realized Joe was related to MPD officer whom they knew and like. Thank you Aunt Jody!
Some things we are not grateful for...
Dishonest people who leave the scene of an accident.
Drunk drivers that take out the speed cameras in that intersection the night before.
And lastly all the woes that come from an auto accident, loss time at work, back pain, rental cars, etc....
